American inventor did not recognize the opening of the utmost importance (in fact this was his only fundamental discovery – thermionic emission). He did not realize that his incandescent lamp with a platinum electrode on the merits was the world’s first electronic lamp.
First, who had an idea about the practical effect of the use of”Edison”was the English physicist John A. Fleming (1849 – 1945). Working with a consultant in 1882 edisonovskoy company in London, he learned about the”appearance”of first-hand – from the Edison. His Diode – a two-electrode lamp Fleyming created in 1904
In October 1906 an American engineer Lee De Forest invented an electronic lamp – power, or audion, as he then called, who had a third electrode – a grid. They had been introduced the principle on which were built all further electronic lamp – control current flowing between the anode and cathode, with the help of other supporting elements.
In 1910 German engineers Liben, Raines and Strauss designed a triode, the grid which was carried out in the form of perforated sheet of aluminum and placed in the center of the cylinder, and to increase the emission current, they offered to cover the filament layer of barium oxide or calcium.
